This recipe has been my go-to summer breakfast smoothie. It is healthy and full of protein and healthy fats, yet tastes like you're eating ice cream for breakfast! I love using the organic salted peanut butter from 99th Monkey as this product uses Australian grown organic peanuts and contains nothing else apart from roasted peanuts and salt. No nasties.
Feel free to adjust the recipe to include any nut butter of your choice, almond butter would also work a treat. You can also add in a scoop of your favourite neutral flavoured protein powder for extra protein if you choose. I like to use a scoop of gelatin or collagen powder.
CHOC PEANUT BUTTER SMOOTHIE
- 1 frozen banana chopped into pieces
- A handful ice blocks
- 1 Tbs chia seeds
- 1 medjool date
- 1-2 Tbs peanut butter
- 1 Tbs cacao powder
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- Approximately 200ml water, coconut water or milk of choice
- Pop all the ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy!
